A rare and fleeting sight — the iconic Nothofagus gunnii (Fagus) in a late autumn, wintery blast. Bathed in the golden glow of its final leaves, this stage comes only after a vibrant journey from fiery red to deep orange. Within days — sometimes hours — the slightest fall of rain or snow will strip these fragile leaves, leaving the branches bare for winter.
