Another Big One

Another stunning display of the Aurora Australis lights dancing above Tasmania. This display was one of the biggest in the last 10 years and it didn't disappoint.

Also known as the Southern Lights, the Aurora Australis occurs when charged particles from the sun collide with Earth’s atmosphere near the South Pole, creating shimmering waves of green, pink, purple, and red across the night sky. 

Tasmania’s southerly location, dark skies, and crisp alpine air make it one of the best places in the world to witness this rare and magical phenomenon.
